how to use fern & cutter essential oils

Inhalations Add 2-3 drops of fern & cutter essential oils to a bowl of hot, steaming water. Place towel over head and inhale the vapour for a few minutes. Alternatively, add 2-3 drops of fern & cutter essential oils to a handkerchief and inhale. |

Compresses Add 5-10 drops of fern & cutter essential oil to a small bowl of hot or cold water (see note below). Lay a piece of clean cloth on surface of water and place it on muscle. Repeat several times. |

CAUTION
fern & cutter pure essential oils should be treated with respect and always diluted in water or fern & cutter carrier oil before being used. If you have an ongoing medical condition or are taking prescribed drugs, always consult your doctor before using essential oils. We do not recommend that essential oils are taken internally.
Oils to be avoided during pregnancy or breast feeding are: basil, cedarwood, clary sage, hyssop, juniper, marjoram, myrhh, pennyroyal, rosemary, sage and thuja.
Those suffering from epilepsy must avoid using: fennel, camphor, hyssop, rosemary and common sage.
Anyone with high blood pressure should not use: hyssop, rosemary or thyme.
Do not apply the following oils before going out into the sun: any citrus, lemongrass or mandarin.
Note: Our bergamot is bergatine free and can be safely used. It is not advisable to use aromatherapy oils prior to sun-bed exposure.
The following oils may cause irritation to sensitive skin: fennel, lemongrass, rosemary, melissa, any citrus, peppermint, thyme, tea tree, black pepper, clove and pine.

Babies fern & cutter essential oils can be used very effectively on babies and children provided you follow our careful guidelines. Babies particularly enjoy the comfort of a gentle massage.

Bathing For babies and children, essential oils should always be diluted before adding to the bath. 1 DROP of fern & cutter essential oil should be added to 3-4 tsps of sweet almond oil or to a cup of milk (not skimmed) and mixed well before adding to bath. Camomile or lavender eases minor discomforts and aids relaxation. Regular addition of the oils to the bath will help soothe skin.

Vaporisations A safe and effective way of using fern & cutter essential oils to help anti microbial action is to place 1 DROP of essential oil on the sheet in the cot.

Massage 1 DROP of fern & cutter essential oil (camomile or lavender) to 2 tsps of sweet almond oil. Work in a clockwise direction for about 5 mins. Can be beneficial in soothing a stressful baby. A gentle massage aids early bonding with babies. Add 1 DROP of camomile or lavender to 2 tsps of sweet almond oil and gently massage body, taking great care to avoid face and hands as babies often put them in their mouths or rub their eyes. |

Children's natural herb conditioner Containing the purest essential oils of rosemary, lavender, eucalyptus and geranium carried in a cold-pressed grapeseed oil. Apply 10-15ml to hair, taking care to coat all strands liberally. Comb through thoroughly, leave for ½ hour, shampoo as normal. Caution: Do not use in pregnancy or if epileptic. Avoid eyes. Keep out of the reach of children. |
